November Bible Reading Plan

Welcome November!

Do you crave a deeper intimacy and unbroken unity with God, the kind of life-changing presence that ignites peace and purpose in your life? Pursuing intimacy with God is a personal and intentional journey of deepening your relationship and fellowship with God through prayer, worship, studying & meditating on His Word.

Have you ever walked through a season where your closeness with God felt distant where your relationship and love for Him seemed challenged by life’s demands or distractions? This month, we are intentionally diving into scripture, pursing intimacy with God, as we renew and deepen our intimacy with God, drawing near to His heart through daily reflection and truth.

We all know for a relationship to form and work between two people they both need to acquire the desire and willingness to put in what is required of them as individuals to make it work. The more we seek God and the closer we get to Him; we see our need of Him in our lives.

Pursuing intimacy with God invites us into the deepest kind of connection, one that surpasses even our closest human relationships. We experience intimacy with family, friends, and loved ones through shared time, trust, and vulnerability.

But how much more does our Heavenly Father long for that kind of closeness with us? He desires a relationship where He is not just included, but placed first above every priority, every person, and every pursuit.

I am not asking on behalf of these alone, but also for those who believe in Me through their word, that they may all be one; just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I also have given to them, so that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and You loved them, just as You loved Me (John 17:20-23 NASB).

What Does It Mean to Walk with God?

To walk with God is to live in continual fellowship with Him heart, mind, and spirit aligned with His presence. It is not merely about religious activity or moral behavior, but about cultivating a relationship marked by trust, obedience, and love.

God wants to be one with us, He has acted upon His desires by offering the necessary sacrifice on His behalf to make us one with Him. But are we playing our parts? Are we relinquishing everything required for us to connect to Him?

God is fully devoted and committed and faithful to us, and His love is an unfailing, forever loyal love. He wants us to be fully devoted and committed to Him in return, and to love Him as He loves us.

In Genesis 5:24, we read that “Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.”

This verse captures the essence of intimacy: a life so intertwined with God that it transcends earthly boundaries.

Walking with God means inviting Him into every moment our joys, struggles, decisions, and dreams. It is a posture of surrender, where we lean not on our own understanding but acknowledge Him in all our ways (Proverbs 3:5–6).

It is also a journey of transformation. As we walk with Him, we are changed by His holiness, comforted by His nearness, and guided by His Spirit. This walk is not always easy. It requires faith when the path is unclear, perseverance when trials arise, and humility when we stumble.

Yet the reward is profound: communion with the Creator, peace that surpasses understanding, and the assurance that we are never alone. To walk with God is to live in rhythm with His heart, to hear His voice, and to respond with love. It is the most sacred journey we can take.

What Does the Bible Say About Intimacy with God?

The Bible is filled with invitations to draw near to God.

James 4:8 says, “Come near to God and He will come near to you.”

The way to develop this type of personal relationship with God—the kind that moves His heart—is to set a time and a place to meet Him. The Lord looks forward to your special time together.

You can become determined to not leave God alone by developing a consistent prayer habit. Give God the desire of His heart—He wants to be with you, to spend time with you. Be committed to it until the habit takes a permanent hold in your life.

This promise reveals God’s desire for closeness, not distant reverence, but personal relationship. From Genesis to Revelation, we see a God who walks with His people, speaks to them, dwells among them, and sends His Son to restore intimacy broken by sin.

In the Psalms, David pours out his heart in raw, relational language:

“My soul thirsts for You… Your love is better than life” (Psalm 63:1–3).

These verses show that intimacy with God is not reserved for spiritual elites—it is available to all who seek Him. Jesus Himself modeled this closeness, often withdrawing to pray and commune with the Father. He also taught that eternal life is knowing God (John 17:3), not just believing in Him.

The Holy Spirit plays a vital role in intimacy. Romans 8:15 tells us we have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.” This is the language of intimacy of children who know they are loved. Through the Spirit, we experience God’s presence, hear His voice, and are empowered to live in fellowship with Him.

The Bible reveals that intimacy with God is both a gift and a pursuit. It is something we are invited into, and something we must nurture through prayer, worship, obedience, and time in His Word. It is the heartbeat of the Christian life.

The Importance of Having Intimacy with God

Intimacy with God is the foundation of spiritual vitality. Without it, faith becomes dry, duty-driven, and disconnected. But with it, our hearts come alive. We are no longer striving to earn God’s favor, we are resting in His love, walking in His grace, and living from a place of communion.

When we are intimate with God, we gain clarity. His voice becomes familiar, His Word becomes personal, and His will becomes our joy. We are less swayed by the world and more anchored in truth. Intimacy also brings healing.

In His presence, wounds are mended, fears are quieted, and identity is restored. We begin to see ourselves as God sees us beloved, chosen, and called.

This closeness fuels our purpose. Ministry flows from intimacy, not performance. When we abide in Him, we bear fruit (John 15:5). Our prayers become powerful, our worship becomes authentic, and our lives become testimonies of His goodness.

Intimacy also strengthens us in trials. We are not immune to suffering, but we are held by a faithful God who walks with us through every valley.

Moreover, intimacy with God transforms relationships. As we receive His love, we are empowered to love others with grace and compassion. We become vessels of His peace, joy, and truth. In a world hungry for connection, our intimacy with God becomes a light that draws others to Him.

Intimacy with God is not optional it is essential. It is the wellspring of life, the anchor of hope, and the secret place where we are renewed day by day.

God is looking for an intimacy relationship from every born-again believer. Intimacy with God is available to you. It is as accessible to you as God’s promises. And God’s invitation to you to enjoy intimate fellowship with him is that thing that is putting your faith to the test more than anything else (James 1:2–4).

Spending time with God cultivates the sense that God is intensely interested in what’s going on with you and what you face today. And He surely is! He has promised to “never leave you or forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5) and longs to be part of your moment-by-moment life—to ease the burdens, provide what you need, and offer His strength for every moment.

A Prayer for November

Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank you that November is a month filled with planning, thanksgiving, and anticipations. As the days unfold, I entrust every day into your hands. Guide me in every decision, and may my actions reflect Your will. Whether I face challenges or moments of ease, help me to always lean on Your wisdom and strength. Father, in all that I pursue this month, may Your name be glorified. Let my endeavors not be about personal gain or worldly recognition but centered on bringing all praise, glory, and honor to You. As I interact with others, may my life be a testament, and bring glory to you. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
