January is all about a Fresh Start. A New Beginnings!  It is such a blessing how God begin everything new.

We are very excited to enter this new year, a new beginning. Take time to reflect and celebrate the past year. What did you accomplish in spite of the many challenges of the past year?

There is something refreshing about beginning a new year. It is a time to refocus on our goals for the upcoming year. I find it helpful to spend some time in prayer, asking the Lord to guide me as I  enter the new year. God’s Word encourages us to regularly reflect on our lives:

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended it, but this one thing I do: forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, Philippians 3:13

New Beginnings is the time of year so many of us start making goals for the year, writing resolutions to change certain areas in our lives. Maybe we have some resolutions to lose weight, exercise more, spend more time with the family.

Some are reading the entire Bible in a year, some are memorizing scripture and writing through the New Testament. Some are committing seeking God’s face, and praying every day. Some are committed to walk in love and to do more service. A new beginning… exactly what we are seeking. 

In January, as we pursue new goals, for the year, during things God’s way, we pray for a better future which is no longer a dream; it becomes our reality. We truly can experience freedom in our lives today, tomorrow, and forever. With Christ,

A Prayer for January:

Father, In the Name of Jesus, Thank You for this new year, a fresh start. I want to be faithful this year in every opportunity You bring my way. I pray for your Holy Spirit to lead me each step of this New Year. I ask that you guide my decisions and turn my heart to deeply desire you above all else. Help me to abide by Your words and keep my focus on You. Give us the strength and the wisdom we will need to meet its everyday challenges. So, help us to humbly put our hands into Your hand, and to trust You and to seek Your will for our lives during this new year. I ask for help to pursue you first, above every dream and desire you’ve put within my heart.” Help me to be like Jesus. I declare that obedience will fill my heart, mind, and actions this new year, and abundant blessings will rain down upon me and everyone that pray this prayer. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
