Bible Reading Plan
Happy New Year!
This month we are going to focus on New Life in Christ
One of the best things we can do in the first moments of the New Year is to pause for a few moments to pray, and ask the Lord for guidance as we enter a New Year.
So now that you are living your new life in Christ, you will find God’s Holy Spirit continually helping you increase your understanding of your new Father and family. New beginnings are an opportunity to approach something with clarity and renewed purpose.
January is all about a Making a Fresh Start! It is such a blessing to see the old year move out, and the new year moves in. God has everything purposefully planned. As we begin a new beginning, we enter a new life in Christ.
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your[a] life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. A Prayer for January:
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I praise You and thank You that You are a good God. Thank You that You love me and desire for me to live a peaceful, happy, abundant life. Lord, I praise You and thank You that You make all things new, and You are working that power in my life right now. No matter what has happened in my past, what mistakes I have made, or where I have missed out on Your best for me—it is all changing, beginning now in the powerful and mighty Name of Jesus. Father, I receive Your transforming, renewing power in my life today. I declare that I am a new creature in Christ Jesus, I am beginning anew with You today. Help me to throw off everything that hinders me so that I may run the race and take the prize. Now, I bind the enemy, in the Name of Jesus, from operating against me in any way. I rebuke the devil from dragging me back to my past or my old ways. I ask You, God, to help me keep from allowing any past events from defining me. I am defined only by who You say I am. You say I am forgiven. You say I am righteous. You say I am special in Your sight. You say I am strong in You and the power of Your might. You say I have the mind of Christ. You say I am an overcomer. You say I have the victory! This is a new season in my life, and I am expecting great miracles, signs, and wonders! I am expecting breakthrough in areas where I’ve been held back, healing where I’ve been broken, and revelation where I’ve felt in the dark. Your mercies are new every morning. This is my fresh start. I praise You and thank You for it. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
Best Study Bibles
If you don’t have a good study Bible, I’d encourage you to get one.
This is the one I have, and I love it. However, much of this comes down to preference. My two favorites are the NIV (New International Version) and the ESV (English Standard Version). Most recently, when I was trying to decide which Bible translation to buy, I found this information and graphic helpful in understanding the differences.
Here are a few popular picks to consider:
- ESV Study Bible
- NIV, Life Application Study Bible
- NIV Study Bible (This is the most recent, fully revised edition of the NIV Study Bible)
- Quest Study Bible
In the Resource section of the website, you’ll find additional information on a few of the best study Bibles. Check it out!
I pray as you enjoy using this Bible reading plan for January along with the other resources will help you really dive deep into God’s word as you began living the new Life in Christ!
