Five Tips in Starting All Over in the New Year
Moving from one year to the next is a perfect opportunity to compartmentalize all the things you want to bid farewell to in the new year. And gives you a clean, definitive starting point for what lies ahead.
That’s why so many of us spend the days leading up to the new year writing down our goals, and putting plans in place to make them happen, you can realize the change you’re hoping to see in your life, in hopes that January 1st will be the start of new beginnings and starting all over again.
Let us look at how you can give yourself the fresh start you have been craving as we enter the new year.
- Prioritize– In order to take the steps required to start working toward your goal, you need to prioritize it. Life can be crazy busy and if you are not intentional about prioritizing your goals, other things will take center stage.
- Focus– now that you have made the goal-related task a priority in your schedule, do not let yourself get distracted. If the goal is important to you, treat it as such. Schedule it prior to other tasks you need to do. Get it done first. Do not push it off or avoid it. You and your goals matter.
- Be Consistent– Being consistent with prioritizing the goal, focusing on it, committing to it, and taking these steps consistently to work toward the goal is what will get you there. Quitters do not win, and winners do not quit, right? A goal is typically comprised of many small steps. In order to reach the end, you have to be consistent with taking each and every one of those steps. Starting can be a challenge. Consistently moving forward is not instantly easy, but it does get better as time goes on.
- Do not give up– As you dream and make changes, you will face opposition. Most good things in life do not come without difficulties. The process can be a test of perseverance. Giving up is common, especially with things hard. Do not be common. You have to want what is on the other side of the challenges more than you want to be comfortable. Expect challenges. Know that there will also be failures. But also know that you can only succeed if you keep going.
As you set goals in the new year, think about what is most important to you. When you get to the end of this year, what do you want to think and feel about how the year went?
The great news is every day is a new opportunity. Choose to make the most of it by setting goals and starting new habits that help you get to where you want to go. Live intentionally and purposefully as you think, plan, and set goals.
Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare before they spring forth, I tell you of them. (Isaiah 42:9)
” Get ready for a new beginning in your life. Get ready for a fresh start.
As you pursue your New Beginnings- Starting all over again. My prayer for you in 2024 is that the new year will bring much success, peace, happiness and joy as you pursue your spiritual walk with God. It all starts with taking the first steps, and I am with you all the way!
