Maybe this Christmas, you’re lacking the real joy you know the season should bring. Even in what’s supposed to be the most wonderful time of year, we can face situations that seem custom-designed to steal all the joy out of Christmas and life.
Allow Jesus to shine through you not only at Christmas time, but for the rest of your life. No one is a stranger to the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
With all the beautiful decorations and sparking lights, and beautiful trees, we must always remember the real reason for this holiday season! Jesus!
“When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told” (Luke 2:17-20 emphasis added).
Keep Joy in Christmas
Psalm 16:11 states, “In your presence is fullness of joy.” This truth is simple. Joy is found by spending time in God’s presence, delighting in him.
When you understand how powerful joy is—and that the only way to have true joy is through the Light of Joy Himself—you can get busy resisting the enemies of joy and keeping that fruit of the spirit growing and producing in your life.
Everyone can experience the joy of the Lord. The real challenge is keeping it every single day. As you prepare to celebrate the birth of our Saviour, don’t let the pressures of the season and everyday life steal your joy. Remember, to let the Light of Joy, Jesus Himself, illuminate your path. Choose to be full of joy, and strong in the Lord. Draw on the supply of the Holy Spirit within you, and you’ll come out on top! Jesus – our Light of Joy!!
Find your joy today in God’s presence. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord! Gladly pronounce the goodness of God in your life! It will strengthen you and your gratitude will usher you into his presence multiplying your joy as you focus on God and his goodness.
Joy to the world! The Lord is come. Let earth receive her King!
A Prayer for December
Father, I thank you for the gift of Your Son Jesus. For the gift of joy, hope, and love. Remove all the walls and borders from around my heart. Today, I want a joy that overflows and springs forth from within my heart. Lord, fill my heart with uncontainable joy and contentment in the upcoming year, despite circumstances, knowing You are by my side.” No matter what I am going through or what may come my way; you can always count on the joy of the Lord to bring me through it. Because laughter is medicine, and everything is going to be alright. Lord, help me see what’s good in my life, and in the world. Lead me to gratitude for all your good gifts. As I navigate the difficulties in my life, the remarks that hurt, remind me that real joy, your joy, comes in the morning. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
