I believe when God is looking for a woman after His heart, he is searching for a woman like you and me, mere women who loves Him. But He is also looking for women who share the same qualities He found in David.  That is an amazing story how God found David, anointed him king even before he walked in the position. God is looking for women “after His own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14).

She is different because she loves more deeply, loves more fully, loves more honestly.

What does it mean to be A Woman After God’s Own Heart?

She is someone who has given her heart to Him completely. Completely sole out to Jesus. A woman who loves God is both fierce and tender, bold, and quiet. She is a woman just like any other—a heart, two eyes, a body, a soul—but what shines through her spirit is her faith, her inability to see the world without her creator as a central part of it. She is a woman that will do God’s Will. She’s a God chaser.

“As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts … for the living God” (Ps. 42:1-2).

She knew the secret of running after God instead of running away from Him. She is far from perfect, but his heart kept pursuing the only one who is. She is a worshipper.  She has absolute faith in God. She absolutely loves God.

Her life is in harmony with the Lord. What is important to Him is important to her. What burdens Him burdens you. When He says, “Go to the right,” you go to the right. When He says, “Stop that in your life,” you stop it. When He says, “This is wrong and I want you to change,” you come to terms with it because you have a heart for God.

Her past does not matter when it comes to your faithfulness to God. It is not going to hinder anything God is during in your life. When it comes to God working in your life, your slate is wiped clean.

What is God looking for?  A woman who will get the job done at all cost. Like Nehemiah, she is not coming off the wall. She is going to stay there until He tells her to come down. There are no secrets with her. No closed doors. No locked closets, no secret hiding places. Nothing has been swept under the rugs. She loves to just sit at the feet of Jesus, where she is comfortable there. Just like Mary, spending time alone with God is an essential part of her life. Does that sound like you?  (Luke 10:38-42). Mary, a woman after God’s own heart, made the choice that indicated her heart’s devotion: She knew it was important to cease her busyness, stop all activity, and set aside secondary things in order to focus wholly on the Lord.

Mary chose the one thing needed—Because Mary was a woman after God’s own heart, she was always preoccupied with one thing—Him! Yes, she too served. And she too tried to fulfill her God-given responsibilities. But there was one choice that Mary made that day in Bethany, a decision to do the one thing that mattered most: Mary chose to spend time worshiping God. She knew that nothing could take the place of time in God’s presence. Indeed, time spent sitting at His feet fuels and focuses all acts of service. And, as her Master noted, time spent hearing and worshiping God can never be taken away, for it is time spent in eternal pursuits, time that earns permanent and everlasting dividends. Mary chose to spend that precious time with Him. Praise the Lord!

God is looking for a woman who chooses His ways at every opportunity. When you do wrong, you admit it and come to terms with it. You long to please Him in your actions. You care deeply about the motivations behind your actions. God is not looking for the perfect women, he is looking for you. He is looking for deeply spiritual, genuinely humble, honest-to-the-core servants who have integrity. Meaning what do you do behind closed doors.

He is looking for a woman with “integrity”, “complete, whole, innocent, having the simplicity of life, wholesome, sound, unimpaired.” It is what you are made of. It is when nobody is looking. God always focuses on the inward qualities, like the character of the heart . . . those things that take time and discipline to cultivate. Think again of women like Tamar, Ruth, Rahab — not very “churchy” women, but women held up for esteem in the Bible.

It takes daily surrender and making God’s Word your highest priority. You are a diamond in the rough. And you gain the power of character and begin to reflect your heavenly Father’s face more clearly as His Word smooths and polishes your character. As you spend time gazing into God’s Word, the light of His truth brightens your motivation to live your life for His glory. When you read the Word of the Lord, He uses it to scrub and scour away your fears, your laziness, your doubts, and your sinful ways. God uses His Word to transform you into a woman of divine power who reflects His beauty. This is what makes a woman beautiful in God’s eyes.

A woman that will do God’s Will. She is a God chaser.

Her Soul Pants for Him

She come to love God, and we want to see God and be with God and be satisfied in admiring and exulting in God.

May the Lord increase your hunger and your thirst to see the face of God. And may he grant your desire, even today, through the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Who Jesus is to A Woman After His Own Heart?

He is the fountain of life and He is the well-spring of satisfaction for the weary soul. He is the God of comfort and the Prince of peace, who alone can calm every pounding heart and still every fearful thought. The living water that sustains the soul of a woman only comes from God, who alone can satisfy the exhausted saint.

All Jesus Wants is A Relationship.

A woman after God’s own heart is one that cares about the “why” behind her actions. God is not looking for merely beautiful women who are all flash and no substance. He is looking for a woman who is deeply in love with Him, servant-minded and pure in heart. A woman who has given her life completely to Him.

A Woman After God’s Own Heart Who Loves God is Not Perfect.

She is far from perfect. She has insecurities and doubts, she has fears and failures, she has moments of hesitation and moments of sin. She has moments where even though she trusts in her God, she still feels empty or angry or unsure. See, she is not a saint just because she has faith in something greater than herself. She is a normal person, but one who tries her absolute best to honor her Heavenly Father in every action. And even in her brokenness, she keeps on loving.

A Woman who loves God loves life, even on the hardest days. She has grown in her faith and has the kind of faith that believes things will turn around. The kind of faith that sees the positives in pain. This does not mean she always has a smile on her face, or never doubts her Father’s wisdom. But it means that she leans on His love, on His grace when she feels like her life is spinning out of control. And in Him she will find her footing again.

She is a woman who loves God, values forgiveness, and is willing to forgive the ones she loves, and forgive herself when she falls short. She does not see vulnerability as a weakness, and instead sees her interactions with others as a reflection of her relationship with God, so she trusts and lets people in, a smile on her face and her heart opens wide.

When you love a woman who loves God, you realize all the ways your life has been empty before she entered. Not necessarily because of her, but because of the light she brings with her smile and the energy she gives off, simply with her presence. That smile on her face radiant that she was in the presence of God.

You will see by her actions, by her laughter, by the way she speaks that she loves God. And you will be drawn to the way she loves, because how she loves God is how she loves others, and how she loves you.

A woman who loves God is not a better person, not a better girlfriend, not a woman that will always be perfect and blameless in her actions. She is not a woman that will always have the answers or never feel unsure on this journey of life, even though she tries.

But what is different about A Woman After God’s Own Heart, is she will be open about her struggles, she will be open about her love, she will be open about the ways her life has changed, has been blessed, has been strengthened by her faith.

And she will be unafraid to keep this faith as a central piece of her heart. You will not have to compete with her God for her affection. Because she loves Him, she will love you. You will just have to be understanding where she is guarded, patient where she is persistent. Because God is important to her, she wants her relationships to honor Him.

She is different because she loves more deeply, loves more fully, loves more honestly. She is different because she is not incomplete, searching for a man to complete her. A woman who loves God is whole, is centered, is strengthened by God. And nothing will be able to separate her from His love.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8: 38-39).

She knows that when she pray, she will get an answer

Lastly, becoming a woman after God’s own heart is a process. If you would like to be a woman after God’s own heart, would you join me in declaring this prayer over your life? “Jesus, you are my Savior and my Lord. I love you and I give my heart and my life to you. I surrender completely to you.  May I love everything you love. May I obey everything you say. Help me to treasure only You and nothing else. Teach me Your way and teach me what it truly is to be a woman after Your heart.”

In Jesus Name! Amen

Prayer for Salvation and Baptism in the Holy Spirit

If you do not know Jesus as your Savior and Lord, simply pray the following prayer in faith, and Jesus will be your Lord!

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21). I am calling on You. I pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to Romans 10:9-10: “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” I do that now. I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.

I am now reborn! I am a Christian—a child of Almighty God! I am saved! You also said in Your Word, “If ye then being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: HOW MUCH MORE shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” (Luke 11:13). I am also asking You to fill me with the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit rise up within me as I praise God. I fully expect to speak with other tongues as You give me the utterance (Acts 2:4). In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

                                YOU ARE NOW BORN AGAIN!
