Self Confidence and God Confidence also known as a biblical self-confidence.

Confidence in God is when your faith is rooted and grounded in who you are in Jesus Christ. It is about being confident in who God is,
in the finished work of Christ on the Cross. God confidence has unlimited possibility.

How to Have Confidence in God

As born-again believers, our reliance and confidence are in God, and not in the world. Our confidence comes from our relationship with Christ. It derives from who we are in Christ.

God is our ever-present help in time of trouble. In every situation and circumstance of our lives, God’s promises will always stand. We can live with the belief that the Lord is our confidence!

I know that sometimes as Christians, we struggle with the ideal of letting go and trusting God but having confidence in God is something most believers struggle with.

Even though we are aware of his great love for us, we find it hard to apply that knowledge during the trials of life.

When you are truly listening to the Holy Spirit and putting all your confidence in Him you will make it through every trial and test stronger then when you went in.

God already knows what you are going through, and He wants you to seek Him and rest on His promises. You can have confidence in His promises:

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” – Deuteronomy 31:8

As a believer our confidence only comes from having confidence in Jesus Christ. God has already provided everything you need for your spiritual growth

What Does the Bible say About Confidence in God?

The Bible is very clear that we should not place our confidence in ourselves, others, or in anything but God himself. (Psalm 118:8-9; Psalm 146:3; Proverbs 25:19; Micah 7:5; 1Tim. 6:17)

We all need confidence, but the question is where does true confidence in God come from? It only comes from Christ. If your confidence is coming from any other source, it will fail in the end.

So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. Hebrews 10:35

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. Hebrews 10:35-36

We must be still and wait on the Lord in any situation that we may face in life. Our confidence is in God.

Be confident in this that He who began a good work in you will finish it. God will never leave you and He promises to work in you until the end conforming you into the image of Christ. Philippians 1:6

We are to follow the Lord with confidence. we are saved is by the work of the Holy Spirit in your life leading you in obedience. When you are living in the will of God you become more confident.

The Bible calls David “a man after God’s own heart” twice. The first time was by Samuel who anointed him as backslidden King Saul’s successor, “But now your kingdom shall not continue.

The Lord has sought for Himself a man after His own heart” (1 Sam. 13:14, NKJV).

David’s confidence was in God. David was not a perfect man by any means. When he sinned, he sinned in a big way, but we must not think of his story as one man’s isolated sin.

It is the story of every man and the complex behavior that surrounds our sinful actions. When David compromises the gospel, he shows the deepest struggle of every man to live by the Word of God.

“What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.” Psalm 56:3-4 KJV

Stop trusting in the flesh and what you can do for yourself. Is there anything too hard for God? God can do more for you in one second than you can do in a lifetime.

Trust in God. Get closer to His presence. Seek Him. He will deliver you. God has always been my confidence even when there were small doubts. He has never let me down.

Get to know Him and your trust in Him will increase. Spend time with Him in prayer. When you are confident in the Lord you will be confident in other areas in your life.
