With the economic, someone might be facing a job loss, or losing their home, this is real.
Perhaps you, too are struggling to find strength in the circumstances you find yourself in.
No matter the situation, no matter the challenge you can find the strength you need in God’s word.
It’s hard to make it through life whenever you’re dealing with a difficult situation. You know God is there and you know He is listening, but sometimes you just need a reminder.
Leaning on God is the best thing to do when things get hard. He’s the only one that can offer strength in hard time of need. I hope you find some comfort in these Bible Verses.
I wanted to share 20 Bible Verses that can strengthen you through hard times.
What Does the Bible Say About Strength in Hard Times?
The Bible reassures us that God’s presence is with us to help us in hard times, even when we don’t realize it. The Book of Psalms is full of reminders that God is a shelter from life’s storms, a refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble — Psalm 46:1
James said that we should: “… count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1:2-4
But how can we count it joy in hard times? What makes it possible to remain in faith when we are experiencing those trials are hard to bear? It is these encouraging promises that can only be found in the Word of God which give us strength and strengthen our faith. If we truly believe in these Bible verses, we will always have strength in hard times, and our hope will never fail. God’s word gives strength. The Word of God is like dynamic to a heart that is struggling in a trial. To read the Word of God and believe that these promises are for you, that God has a personal love for you, and has a personal interest in seeing it go well for you and in getting you through all the hard times, every situation, gives the greatest comfort known to man.
These verses are like a lifesaver to cling to in a stormy sea, keeping you afloat. They are like a lighthouse in the distance, showing you that safety and salvation are near. The grace of God is enough for each of us, so that no storm can break us. We are safe in His hands, and we can come through any storm, all our trials, with our faith strengthened, rather than the opposite.

Prayer for Strength During Difficult Time
Here is a prayer that you can use as you walk through hard times. Use it as is or use it as the foundation to form your own prayer to the Lord.
Father, in the Name of Jesus, thank You for greeting me with love and faithfulness every morning and night. Help me to bend, not break, in the winds of all I’ve got happening with my life, heart and home right now. Please give me a fresh strength and vitality today to walk in Your ways and thrive in Your grace. In Jesus’ Name, God you are strong when I am at my weakest your strength makes my strongest moment look like baby struggling to stand on its own two feet.
Lord Jesus, give me the strength to stick it out over the long haul—not the grim strength of gritting my teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes me strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for me. Jesus, give me strength in my weakness. Amen.
God Promises of Strength Through Hard Times
My prayer is, whatever circumstances you find yourself in today, that God’s Promises help you to keep your gaze fixed on the love of God. He is constant and unchanging. His promises remain faithful. Even through hard times, God is faithful.
While there may be times in life when we feel like God is far off, or we struggle to see any ray of hope. These bible verses about strength in hard times will give you a firm foundation to stand on.
Regardless of what hard times or challenges you may be facing, the Father is always our source of strength. We pray these verses lift your spirit.
We must be like the writer of Psalm 119 who said: “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations…The wicked have set their traps for me, but I will not turn from your commandments. Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight.” (Verses 105-106, 110-111).
It’s not enough for us to just lie back and say, “Well, if it’s God’s will for me to have victory I guess He’ll just give it to me. That statement is from a person who do not know the Will of God for their lives. God’s Will is his Word. If it’s His will for me to be healed, He’ll just heal me.”
No! It is His will. He did give it to you. By His stripes you were healed. Now you must take God’s Word as your heritage. You have to aggressively pursue it and get it in your heart and mouth.
You have to fight off every unbelieving devil and every troublesome circumstance that comes to steal that Word and say, “Bless God, I have taken God’s promise as my heritage. It’s my future. It’s my life.
I refuse to be troubled by the temporary troubles of this world. They’ll pass away but God’s Word will never pass away. God upholds all things by the Word of His power and that Word will come to pass in my life!”
